The project comes under the framework of the EU circular economy goals and aims to achieve the Material Recovery of 40,000 tonnes of industrial waste per year to obtain bio-oil. Waste processed at this facility is currently deposited in landfill or incinerated. This material recovery mitigates greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The process reduces gases by 58% compared to incineration and 25% compared to landfill. Products obtained also favour decarbonisation by approximately 60% compared to the products they replace.
